Gregg Simpson, A Walk in the Woods, 2008 (84" x 64") |
Gregg Simpson: Out of the Woods
November 18 – December 10, 2011
Gregg Simpson has been a fixture of the Vancouver art scene since the 1960s. He combines surrealism and abstraction to create a fusion of figure and landscape which arises directly from the visceral process of mark making and automatism. The exhibition features large scale paintings from three of his recent series; Island Passages, Improvised Landscapes and Personal Totems.
